ChinaCoal Pingshuo Coal Company Limited with a previous name of Pingshuo Coal Industry Company established in 1982 was incorporated into China National Coal Group Corporation and became a key production enterprise of the Group Corporation in June, 1997. In 2006, the excellent assets of the previous Pingshuo Coal Industry Company were brought into China Coal Energy Corporation Limited (a listing company). ChinaCoal Pingshuo Coal Company Limited was registered and established in August, 2008.

ChinaCoal Pingshuo Coal Company Limited has state approved coal resources with a total tonnage of 9.086 billion t, a staff member of 11000 and a total asset of RMB 31.547 billions. In passed five years, the raw coal production of Pingshuo Coal Company was annually increased with 10.00 million t. From 1982 to the end of 2009, the company had delivered the sales coal with a total of 495 million t and the fatality rate per million t of raw coal was 0.035. The company has an accumulated gross industrial output (current price) of RMB 111.4 billions, handed over different tax and dues of RMB 17.288 billions and had an export profit with USD 4.83 millions.

With over 20 years of the development and construction, ChinaCoal Pingshuo Coal Company Limited has Antaibao and Anjialing - two super large surface mines, No. 1 Underground Mine, No. 2 Underground Mine, No. 3 Underground Mine and Jingdong Coal Mine - four large modernized underground mines, five coal preparation plants with an annual capacity of 80.00 million t and three special railway lines with an annual transportation capacity of 86.00 million t. ChinaCoal Pingshuo Coal Company Limited is a largest and highest modernized surface and underground combined coal mining enterprise in China. The Pingshuo Mining Area has became an important export steam coal production base and is listed by the State as one of the national 13 coal production bases in China. The East Surface Mine Project in construction is including a surface mine, a coal preparation plant and a railway line. The designed annual raw coal production capacity of the surface mine in construction would be 20.00 million t.

The advanced surface and underground combined coal mining method in Pingshuo Mining Area for raw coal production can highly improve the resources recovery. A “single bucket/shovel – truck” interval mining technique is applied to the surface coal mining production, the mechanization degree of the surface coal mining is 100 % and the coal recovery rate of the surface coal mining could be reached to 96.2 %. A fully mechanized top coal caving mining technique is applied to the underground mine and the coal recovery rate of the coal mining face can reach to 85 %. The raw coal produced in the mining area will be totally set to the coal preparation plant for the processing. A full heavy medium preparation technique with a full closed circulation and full automation production is applied to all related coal preparation plants. There are three major products of cleaned coal, cleaned mixed coal and Pingshuo mixed coal with over a dozen of coal products from the coal preparation plants. The quality of the coal products is stable and reliable, the calorific value of the products is equilibrium and there are many different kinds of the coal products been sold to Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and places as well as to the domestic large electric power enterprises. The Pingshuo coal products have had a high reputation in the domestic and international markets.

The Pingshuo Coal Company have won “Golden Horse Prize”, “Golden Stone Prize”, “National May First Labor Award”, “China (Coal) Annual Brand of 2007 World Market”, “AAA Grade Credit Enterprise in Coal Industry and many other honors.

The development and construction of the Pingshuo Mining Area have obtained the high attentions and sincere cares from the Chinese Communist Party and Government. Comrade DENG Xiao-ping took eight personal interests in Pingshuo Antaibao Project. Comrade LI Peng had made five visits to Pingshuo Mining Area and cut the ribbon at the opening of Antaibao Project. JIANG Ze-min，HU Yao-bang, WAN Li, LI Rui-hua, QIAO Shi, SONG Ping, ZOU Jia-hua and other leaders of the Party and Government individually had visited the Pingshuo Company. The Government Support, the leaders’ care and the great honors have encouraged several generations of Pingshuo people to make the arduous effort,firm reformand scientific development for the national honors.

The development targets of Pingshuo Company in the coming 5 years will be “11456”, that is to say that in the year of 2014, Pingshuo Company will be built as a national over 100 million t annual coal production base with a raw coal production of 130 million t, would be an integration of coal, electric power, chemistry, building material and ecology with a high standardized circulated economic industrial park for the demo purposes, would expand the mining boundaries with a new coal resources of 4.0 billion t, would optimize the its industrial structures with an annual non coal sales income of RMB 5.0 billions and could keep the coal and electric power integration with a new 6000 MW installed capacity.

In order to ensure the above target successfully to be completed, Pingshuo Company provided the “5448” work requirements, that is to say to have “five establishments”, including the establishment of crisis awareness, the establishment of responsibility awareness, the establishment of overall awareness, the establishment of team awareness and the establishment of implement awareness, to have “four promotions: including the promotion of system innovation, mechanism innovation, management innovation and technical innovation, to have “four implementations”, including the implementation of coal to be fine products, the implementation of non coal industry to be in strong, the implementation of ecology to be good and the implementation of services to be excellent, to have “eight improvements”, including the improvement of the intrinsic safe, the improvement of production technology, the improvement of professional management, the improvement of management and control, the improvement of human resources, the improvement of industrial structure, the improvement of enterprise image and the improvement of staff living quality.
